1)This financial aid is supported by Emeritus Professor Fusao Ota and Dr. Takeshi Nishikawa, Japan.

2)A stipend of about 800 US dollars a year (equivalent to 100,000 Japnanese yen) for each year is payable to a successful recipient selected.

3)The stipend is inclusive of all necessary expenditure e.g. taxes and administrative fees authorised by the Ethiopian government.

4. 4)The scholarship is applicable for one to three years depending upon the study programeme and by submitting a preliminary (mid-term report) and the final report at the end of one year. If the study programme is for thee years a full report must be submitted at the end of each year.
   

5. 5)The scholarship programme must start within 2 months after the notification to the recipients selected by the selection committee.
   

6. 6)After the end of the research programme any academic presentation and/or papers resulting from this programme must acknowledge the fund’s supporter in the acknowledgments section or as co-authors.
   

7. 7)If application is for personal echange programme the application form must be accompanied with an  estimate issued from a qualified travel agency.  In this case if the applicant wishes to combine this with other scholarship from a public or private sector for living expenses abroad application must be accompanied with a certificate authorised by such funding organisatisation.
   

8. 8)If application is for a research fund the applicant must submit the final report with all (original or copies)receipts for consumables (names of items, their numbers and prices per unit, and in the case of labour the number of workers, the type and hours of work per person) (See attachment 1 and 2) to the administration by attaching to an e-mail within 3 months after the end of the programme.
   

9. 9)  If the application is for a year the successful candidate can extend the term up to 2 years by reapplication after the first year. (Use the same application form for the first time)
   

10. 10)  Any form of failure to comply with the conditions above will be the end of stipend at the time of exposure of such actions and result in reimbursement of stipend to the fund supporter.
    

11. 11)  Application must be accompanied with a recommendation letter signed by a professor in the University of Gondar, Ethiopia
    

12. 12)  Application forms submitted will be reviewed by members of the selection committee  consisting of scientists in Japan and  Ethiopia appointed by Prof. Fusao Ota.
    

13. 13) A successful candidate will be notified  by e-mail only from Prof. Fusao Ota.
    

14. 14) Any of the conditions above are subject to change without notice.
    

15. 15)Application and all subsequent processes including notification of successful candidate and reports are treated by e-mail only.
    

16. 16)All applicants must understand all the conditions stated above and those in the application forms.
    

Addenda:

1)The scholarship is available (100,000 yen a year) to a graduate student registered officially in the University of Tokushima, Japan at the time of his registration combined with his/her own expenses or on a financial aid from a private sector.

2)For a research programme stipend (in U.S. dollars) will be paid either directly into a bank account opened by the successful candidate or by hand in cash from a traveller to Ethiopia or the other way. Should the stipend be taxable the candidate must bear any duty or taxes enforced by the Japanese and Ethiopian governments.

3. 3)In the case of an exchange programme air ticket (s) will be sent by air mail to the successful candidate prior to the traveler’s journey to his destination. It may be reimbursed to him in equivalent US dollar or Japanese yen upon arrival to Japan based on an estimated authrised by the traveller agency.   
   

4. 4)All these conditions aforementioned will be informed of after notification of the application results.
   

5. 5)Any of the conditions stated above is subject to change without advanced notice.
