GeneraL Rules of the Selection Committee for Scholarship

(Purpose)

Article 1

These rules are to govern the Interviewing Committee (hereafter designated as Interviewing Committee) endorsed by the Ethiopian Association of Japan for Emeritus Prof. Ota’s Scholarship

(Tenure of the Committee Members)

Article 2

The Interviewing Committee acts upon request from the Ethiopian Association of Japan to select the best candidate among applicants for the scholarship、

(Members)

Article 3

Item1The members of the Committee are nominated by Emeritus Prof. Fusao Ota and approved  by the Ethiopian Association of Japan among the candidates below.

Item 2Two Professors at the  University of Tokusima or equivalent scientist, Japan                  2

(2)　Two Professors at the University of Gondar, Gondar, Ethiopia or equivalent scientist     2

(3)　One representative from the Ethiopian Society of Japan                                                 1

(4)　Less than three nominated by the Chairman of the Committee as necessitated.            2

Item3 Tenure of the Committee Members are 3 years and may be re-endorsed for the second term.

(Assemble of the Committee)

Article 4

Item 1 Committee is assembled upon request from the Chairman.

(Chairman and Vice Chairman)

Article 5

Item 1Chairman (0ne) and Vice-chairman (one) are selected among the committee member.

Item 2Chairman serves as Speaker at the Assemble of the Committee members and assumes the         leadership of the committee.

Item 3           Vice-chairman as deputy chairman in the absence of chairman.

(Meeting)

Article 6

Item 1　A meeting of the committee must open by the presence of more than half the number of the committee members.

Item 2Any decision is acted by agreement of more than half the committee members present in the meeting. Chairman makes decision when the number of members presented in the meeting balances equally.

Article7

The Interviewing Committee must report immediately the results with a brief report written to the Ethiopian Association of Japan.

Article8

Any problem arising regarding the selection of candidate for the scholarship will be dealt with in this committee.

Addenda

1)All meetings unless otherwise stated are usually assembled by the e-mail. system.

2)The rules are all effective as of the 1st September, 2014.
